Yoga Haven: Art and Meditation

The information in this post may be out of date. See the schedule for current events.

Art and Meditation Classes at Yoga Haven with artist Mona Shiber
call 455-4278 or clearvisionstudio@hotmail.com for questions.

Unleash your visual creativity thru a series of art and mindfulness meditation classes.
We will begin with mindfulness stress reduction exercises, guided imagery, then move into the ‘how to’
of materials and tools of art-making along with facilitating content. Comfortable clothing is necessary for some of the work we do on the floor. Come with or without prior art or meditation knowledge and with an open heart.

Affirmation Collage Workshop:
Feb 24th 1-4pm Saturday, $45 - includes some materials*

Using an affirmation of intent, we begin by centering ourselves, then moving into writing a clear statement of what we want to bring into our lives, be it small or grand, then creating our collages by using images on a 2D surface. These images can reflect the feeling state of our affirmations, a representation of that which we want to manifest, or allowing the mystery to guide us in words and images inspired by just being with what arises. I will demonstrate and give examples of collage techniques.

Feel free to bring comfortable cushions or support for sitting on the floor. Please bring journal and pen and a mat board of your preference.

*Materials: glue (PVA & heavy gel medium), scissors, magazines, gel medium, board (form core, mat board, chip board), tissue paper, construction paper, pencils, acrylic paints, paint brushes, string..

Experience possibility, open to creativity, settle into the now.
