Santosh | Kripalu Yoga classes and private lessons in Knoxville, TN

Hi, my name is David Morgan. I also go by Santosh, which means “contentment” in Sanskrit.

I grew up in Powell, graduated from Webb in 1991, and after more than a decade away studying, living, working, or not doing much of anything in Vermont, India, Baltimore, France, Honduras, Guatemala and New York City, I moved back to Knoxville in 2002.

I was first introduced to meditation while pursuing a degree in Religion at Middlebury College. I became interested in the mystical traditions of the world religions, exploring their many similarities and relishing their subtle differences. Eventually yoga found me, and here I am, years later, a full-time yogi.

Yoga, for me, is not religious as I am not Hindu so far as I know. But it is intensely spiritual. Yoga and meditation have helped me immensely — not only to take care of my physical body, which for a long time I had ignored or downright abused — but also to nurture my emotional and mental health.

In many areas of my life where I once suffered addiction, despair, negative thinking and overwhelming emotions, I now enjoy a great deal of… for lack of a better word… “contentment.”

The good news is, there’s plenty to go around. Please accept this heartfelt invitation to join me in the practice of loving life.

Credentials: I am a certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher at the 200-hour level. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the Yoga Alliance and a member of the Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association (KYTA).
